I’ve often seen guides on the Green River below Flaming Gorge Dam hold the boat sideways to the current and drift dry flies straight downstream.

So we copied that drift — and got bites on the dry fly.

Watching the local guides how they fish that river is very interesting to me.

We have been using 2–3 small yarn strips as sighte

We have been using 2–3 small yarn strips as sighters on our Keiryu and Honryu setups.

Because Keiryu and Honryu rods are longer than typical Euro nymphing rods, we’ve found that using multiple yarn sighters makes them much easier to see.

In this video, I was fishing with the Keiryu 44, a 14-foot rod.

Once tied onto the line, the yarn stays where you place it but is still easy to slide up or down to adjust the position. It’s a simple, lightweight setup that works really well with longer rods.
